“I value the Ornamental Gardens at the Central Experimental Farm - the only Federal experimental farm left in all of Canada. This belongs to the people of Canada. Our Prime Minister still has the power to say NO to this takeover of the Farm by the Civic Hospital. In this time of Climate Change, it is not the time to destroy 680 trees which add to the beauty of this location and also capture carbon. Dows Lake is a beautiful spot in the city of Ottawa, but if we surround it with buildings and parking lots, it will just become a small hole. I agree with Clive Doucet on this. Removing 680 trees people can walk through can never be replaced by trees on the rooftop of a Parking lot. Who will walk up 4 stories to walk on top of a building?? I've worked as a volunteer in the Ornamental Gardens and know how much people cherish these gardens. In a large city - spacious landscapes contribute to the health of people. Please do not put the hospital here.”
